KS1 Residential- Evening Activities

Back at school, Year 1 and 2 had lots of fun setting up their tents and making it cosy. We then enjoyed a yummy BBQ, cooked by Mr.

After tea, the children enjoyed a game of football rounders followed by a visit to the park.

Back in the hall (teeth brushed and pj’s on) the children were ready for a bed time story, before heading to their tents for a good nights sleep (the bit they wanted to do all day).

Thank you to all the staff and volunteers for helping out, the parents for supporting this event and of course the children who did nothing but make us proud. ☺️

KS1 Residential- Day activities

  • Wow! What an amazing time we had on our first KS1 sleepover.

In the morning we had Nursery to Year 2 children completing a range of problem solving/ outdoor learning activities. This included filling a bucket with a leaking container, getting through a giant spider web, bug hunts, making bird feeders plus much more.

After a relaxed picnic lunch on the field, Reception to Year 2 headed to Eden Rock. At Eden Rock the children embraced new challenges and some overcame fears. The instructors were fantastic and had the children very excited and wanting to try more.

Whinlatter Continued

Class 1 had an amazing trip out to Whinlatter. Before lunch, we followed either Squirrel Scurry Trail or the Tracks Trail. The children took it in turns to use the map and tell us which way to go. After lunch we had lots of fun making dens.  We finished our day by playing and exploring in the fantastic adventure play. Some of us were practising our climbing for Eden Rock, while others enjoyed the group swing or water play.

The bus was definitely quieter on the way home 😴.

Thank you to our volunteers and to Class 1 for being Super Stars.

Our Interests

Following the children’s interest we have been learning all about ‘our garden’ in Nursery. On Monday the children learnt all about plants, we watched a Mr Bloom episode all about growing flowers and vegetables. We then learnt about the different parts of a plant before planting our own flowers in Class 1 garden. On Tuesday we planted some wild flowers in the garden, we found it a challenge digging the hole for them. On Thursday we made some fantastic bug hotels, we have enjoyed checking the hotels outside to see if any have made a home yet. On Friday we made big bubbles outside and the children enjoyed seeing if they could stand inside the bubble, we then went for a big splash in our wellies.
